ObamaCare, Anti-Christian E-Mail of the Day

By Debbie Schlussel

I wish I could say I only get e-mails like this from the left–from which the one below clearly emanates–and Muslims.  Sadly, I now get plenty of the same thing from Sarah Palin supporters, not to mention The Simpsons and Dexter fans (and I love “The Simpsons,” by the way).

NOT!  You dirty malignant c*nt [DS:  C-word asterisk inserted by me].  I hope that on your way to church next week a big statue of jesus falls on your car and knocks you out.  And then while you’re unconscious you dream that jesus tells you that he’s not real and the whole thing was a big scam from the start.  Then you will know what most of us already know.

I’ll let you get back to your praying and racisming whatever else you do.

Regards,

Phil.

You stay classy, Phil.

Grammar, punctuation, religious tolerance, and well-wishes for a peaceful existence without violence or harm. Yup, Phil’s letter has it all. Plus, I guess he missed that tiny detail that I’m a Jew.

Are you honestly criticising someone for their level of religious tolerance? If you are do you honestly not see anything a bit off with that?

C: Please show me any e-mail I’ve ever sent to anyone wishing them death or injury because of their religion. Sadly, I’ve been on the receiving end of plenty of those. DS

Cameron on November 23, 2009 at 9:29 am

Why call this christian? There is nothing christian about this. Phil doesn’t even believe in Jesus. He thinks it’s all a scam.
The other guy is not a christian either.
Even those who follow Jesus would not call them christians.
People give themselves titles, but by their fruits you shall know them.
I’m in agreement with the others here. Turn them in.

M: Pls. read closely. I noted he’s ANTI-Christian. DS

Luckily Jesus is only a false prophet, right Debbie?

Nak on November 23, 2009 at 10:23 am

Nak wrote “Luckily Jesus is only a false prophet, right Debbie?” Why don’t you come out and tell us what you are really thinking? If Jesus is only a false prophet, who are the real prophets?

Jarhead on November 23, 2009 at 11:19 am

“…racisming…”

I’m still laughing.

dm60462 on November 23, 2009 at 11:04 am

I love when you share those…. People are crazy I tell you. It is amazing to me what people will sit down and pen to another human being that has a different opinion then they do.. amazing.

sharon on November 23, 2009 at 11:05 am

But Debbie, dontcha know that rednecks (which fits Phil to a tee) think we go to “Jew church?” They don’t know the word synagogue. And if they’ve heard it,
they probably can’t pronounce it.

MK750 on November 23, 2009 at 11:15 am

I meant that Jesus was not the messiah, Something every Jew must agree with. He was just a man, whose religion was at the forefront of anti semetism for centuries.

Nak on November 23, 2009 at 11:22 am

Nak – you didn’t answer my other question. If Jesus is only a false prophet, who is/are the real prophet(s)?

Jarhead on November 23, 2009 at 11:31 am

MK, if the idiot email-er was a “redneck” for being anti-semitic then does that mean Pat Buchanan is a redneck too?

blanco on November 23, 2009 at 11:40 am

It sure does, blanco. Buchanan is a vile anti-semite even tho his conservatism and take on your Constitution seems solid. He’d sell out Israel faster than you know who, is doing

Hi Debbie,

I came to this site because I got a Google alert regarding Philip Russom, who happens to be an employee of mine (but luckily is not the same Phil Russom who wrote the despicable note above.)

I read this and another blog entry on your site, and some reader comments. I was discouraged by the quality of discourse. I’d ignore the wing nuts on both sides and take the conversation to a higher level.

We need more people with influential public voices like yours who can demonstrate how to voice opinions forcefully but respectfully. Shock talk does drive ratings (unfortunately) but you reap what you sow.

What’s frightening is that too many Americans now see other Americans as the “enemy” or “evil.” That’s weird. We’re on the same side! As Lincoln said, “A house divided cannot stand.” Real American patriots need to figure out ways to bring us together not drive us apart.

WE: “We Are the World, We Are the Children . . . .”–Michael Jackson and a ton of other people with your worldview who accomplished nothing with their marshmallow attitude. “Can’t We All Just Get Along?” –Rodney King. Famous last words. DS

Debbie when you don’t get bad emails then I know you aren’t doing your job. Keep up the good work!!

CaliforniaScreaming on November 23, 2009 at 11:46 am

Jesus statues crashing down sounds more like a left-wing wet dream to me. Is Roland Emmerich a right-winger? Anyway, this vile creature named Phil is clearly a deranged lunatic. If he represents anything, it’s the right wing of a mental asylum. I’m sorry you had to deal with his abuse.

tempus fugit on November 23, 2009 at 12:11 pm

Debbie, I confess the point of the rant escapes me. If Phil was making a point I missed it. Some people make absolutely no sense whatsoever. If a writer starts out with an insult and degenerates into poor grammar at the end, I’d delete it. Some things just aren’t worth responding to.

NormanF on November 23, 2009 at 12:15 pm

Debbie is right – the Left talks a good game about civility and bipartisanship but they don’t actually mean it. Dealing with them means checking your principles at the door. That’s what they really mean about meeting the Right half way. They don’t have to give up everything until your surrender is complete.

NormanF on November 23, 2009 at 12:28 pm

What do you mean who are the real prophets? I’m saying that from a Jewish perspective Jesus was a false prophet and false messiah. Personally I don’t care what imaginary guy in the sky those supposed prophets say they represent.

Nak on November 23, 2009 at 1:48 pm

people and their undying misplace Palin support….

the hate email of the day is a gem. the guy is no christian. what a jerk. I am sure some women is making him miserable everyday tho-so crazy wife. so men like him stay irritated.

I support you, and I am christian. you are a excellent example to me b/c you do observe the traditions and beleive in G-d. I used to say, “god this and god that”, but now, in most of my typing, in respect I now use G-d. you showed me that 🙂

“C: Please show me any e-mail I’ve ever sent to anyone wishing them death or injury because of their religion. Sadly, I’ve been on the receiving end of plenty of those. DS”

Please show me where I said that you did. Please answer my question. Please stop posting hateful bile on your blog and there is a strong chance less idiots will send you this sort of thing.

Cameron on November 23, 2009 at 5:42 pm

Cameron, hating evil is to be praised – its righteous, true and holy. You want Debbie to stop hating evil? I agree with her and as for the idiots who send her hate mail – well that goes with the territory of having strong beliefs about right and wrong. She’s not going to give them up even at the point of death and Jews have over the centuries embraced martyrdom to advance G-d’s rule in this world. Will we be counted with the good guys or with the bad guys? I know whose side I am on and it isn’t definitely yours!

NormanF on November 23, 2009 at 8:02 pm

Debbie, according to that skidmark’s first line of his letter, in your condition you’re going to be SOL if ObasmaCare passes. The PAP Nazis will say, “No tests for you!”

My reading those emails hurts, but if it eases your pain/anger, bring ’em on by the barrelful.

Addicted to your Blog. 😉

Stymie on November 23, 2009 at 9:56 pm

lpolverini, you say you are a christian and support Debbie since she believes in God. Unfortunately it is not good enough that she simply believes in God and observes the traditions, she rejects your lord and savior. She will never ask Jesus to forgive her sins which is the ONLY way to get to heaven. You know this to be true since you did say you are a christian, ya know, the one true religion in the world.

Nak on November 23, 2009 at 9:59 pm

    Thank you for trolling.

    Worry01 on November 23, 2009 at 10:33 pm

Wow, Nak! Your post is the first instance of “Christian intolerance-by-proxy” that I have ever seen! And here I thought I’d seen everything. Silly me….congrats, pal–you’re such a trailblazer. Good for you!

    Nills M-Town on November 24, 2009 at 12:57 am

I do appreciate your sharing such emails with us. It gives us a clearer picture of what the world has become.

Worry01 on November 23, 2009 at 10:34 pm

“…a clearer picture of what the world has become.”

Q: Where are we going, and why am I in this hand basket?

Stymie on November 24, 2009 at 12:24 am

What an idiot this guy is. I can honestly say for certain that, as a churchgoer my entire life, the only statue of Jesus I have ever seen is the Christ the Redeemer statue/monument in Brazil. I have been to many different Christian houses of worship in my lifetime, and I have failed to encounter a single one of these apparent threats to automobile drivers. Where are they?

Nills M-Town on November 24, 2009 at 12:52 am

I wrote this post like 3-4 years ago and I’m having a good laugh reading the replies. It was supposed to be nonsensical (i.e. imagine you, a Jewish woman attending Church and a figure you don’t believe in telling you in non-existence that it’s non-existent). Guess some of you right-wingers aren’t as clever as you think you are. The only thing accurate in that post is that Mr Russom, math and science sub was a serious douche.
