Politico “Scoop” Out-Scooped By Schlussel: Flashback – “FBI Still Mtg w/ CAIR,” April/Feb ’09

By Debbie Schlussel

Yesterday (Monday) evening, the Politico’s Josh Gerstein posted a “scoop”–which wasn’t a scoop at all, since I broke the story seven and nine months ago.  And, of course, Politico’s partner in promotion and denying proper credit where it’s due, Matt Drudge, followed suit linking to the unoriginal piece.

DebbieSchlussel.com Broke the Story . . .

. . . That FBI “Supermodel” Andrew Arena Was Meeting w/ CAIR’s Walid

fbi.jpgcolclink.jpg

The story was ostensibly about Attorney General Eric Holder speaking to a group of left-wing interest groups, including CAIR, but it was mostly about how the group regularly meets with the FBI, including CAIR-Michigan Executive Director Dawud Walid (DS exclusive reporting: real name, Delano Anthony Willis, Jr., who has quite a rap sheet).  This, as the story notes, violates the FBI claim they won’t meet with the extremist CAIR–the Council on American Islamic Relations.  But, hello . . ., I reported–MONTHS AGO–that they were still meeting with each other and that the embargo/boycott/ban was bogus.  Phony.  A lie.  A fraud.  Fiction.

Yes, if you read this site, you know that  I reported, back in April–in “What’choo Talkin’ ‘Bout Willis?: Told Ya So–FBI Still Meeting with CAIR; FBI’s Arena Fete’s CAIR Dude w/Long Rap Sheet“–and February–in “Myths & Facts: . . . FBI Still Hanging with CAIR,” that CAIR-Michigan was still meeting with the FBI as part of a larger “dialog” group of Arabs and Muslims.  So, it’s hardly news today . . . unless you’re new to this site or not shrewd enough to read it.

You can read it here, first, months ahead of time, or get old, stale fish wrap, months later from the mainstream online media.  Maybe one day, Gerstein will actually break an original scoop.  But he certainly didn’t here.  I beat him to it . . . at least seven months ago, and actually nine.

Gerstein’s column is called “Under the Radar.”  But his radar sure seems to take a long time to work.  Glad he finally discovered America.  The radar that works is on this site.   Read it here first . . . or read it somewhere else a half a year later.

The MSM still hasn’t gotten around to acknowledging Hasan is Muslim or his reported links with Al Qaeda and other Islamic terrorist groups around the world. When they finally do, it’ll be dated news.

Debbie you continually break stories months and years ahead of well-known reporters and commentators. While I do enjoy some of the programs on Fox news, I have to say that you are more qualified than any of them to have your own show and you report and comment with unmatched integrity.
Why has this not happened yet?

C: Thanks. Ask Roger Ailes and Bill Shine, the guy who hires hosts at FNC and is Sean Vannity’s best friend. He’s the one who fired the talented, smart E.D. Hill and replaced her with bimbo, Gretchen. DS

I think its because of her legal background. That brings a wider perspective to her reporting and Debbie doesn’t have a job where she needs to avoid offending a large number of people to keep it. She can speak her mind and tell the truth and not worry about what the results might portend. Its just too bad others take too long to acknowledge the obvious. But if you are a regular reader on this site you know that stuff sometimes becomes common knowledge – and sometimes not. We have access to information like never before in human history but its not always reliable, timely and informative. You’ll find its all those things on this site – and nowhere else.

[NormanF-Debbie doesn’t have a job where she needs to avoid offending a large number of people to keep it. She can speak her mind and tell the truth and not worry about what the results might portend.]

I could be wrong, but I believe Debbie has suffered professionally as a lawyer and in her peer group (as a commentator and analyst) with lost opportunities.

She has also been involved to some extent in sports and she obviously does movie reviews (anyone who reads this site knows that). I have to believe, but I could be wrong, that she suffers there also.

I don’t have any evidence at all that she has suffered, but I would be shocked to find out that her outspoken views have not cost her greatly both in terms of status and income. I thank her for making that sacrifice.

Debbie, are you alleging plagarism or simply saying you reported this story first?

K: As the piece notes, I am simply saying that I reported this first–over half a year ago. It’s no scoop. I doubt Josh Gerstein saw or knew about my scoop, or he’d have given credit. He’s very good about that, as far as I know. DS

Debbie is saying while she did get credited for the story, its months old. The MSM media dinosaur is badly behind the news curve. If you want breaking news, you’ll find here first, there later.

Is the FBI just stupid or do they think we are stupid? From Gerstein’s article Debbie linked to:

An FBI spokeswoman confirmed that the FBI’s Special Agent-in-Charge in Detroit, Andy Arena, will serve as co-chair for the Nov. 19 dinner.

“We are co-chairing the event. We are not sponsoring the event,” spokeswoman Jennifer Burnside said. She said the FBI “didn’t have any role” in selling tickets for the event or in issuing invitations.

David, the Famous But Incompetent are clueless about Islam. They not only fuss over Islamists, they go out of their way to deny there is a Jihadist threat to America. As for protecting America from this danger, they are doing a lousy job of it. They knew who Hasan was and whom he contacted abroad but they did nothing to stop him. On that they’ve had tunnel vision since 9/11 and don’t hold your breath waiting for that to change in the future.

“The MSM still hasn’t gotten around to acknowledging Hasan is Muslim or his reported links with Al Qaeda and other Islamic terrorist groups around the world. When they finally do, it’ll be dated news.”

Norm — It’s been noted on the front page of the New York Times for the past 4 days.

Trust me when I say folks–with Debbie, you are tuned in to the best channel for straight unvarnished REALITY on this stuff.

I heard Rush Limbaugh marvelling today over the way Hasan had made his Jihadist views known for years–and should have been outed as a threat long ago– WELCOME RUSH!!! Debbie has been cataloging the names and records of the operatives and appeasers for years now.

I heard this Walid disown his conversion to Islam as happening in prison today on WJR radio, (Beckmann program)–he said that a blogger had that all wrong. Then he said, “I had already converted to Islam before I got into all that…”

Those who want to know, come here to DS.com for the skinny. Want to really know? enter the name in the “Search for:” box and start reading.

When enough people are blown up and shot up for the sake of preserving PC-ness by these jihadi types–Debbie will still be there saying what she has always said–but….and…ONLY THEN…the people in the MSM WILL be forced to LISTEN and deal with the reality they should have known.

Read this story to see how far the Army went to ignore this jihadi’s war cries to the carnage he has inflicted in the name of islam-allahu akbar.

At least 26 dead in Pakistan traffic blast

November 10, 2009 — Updated 1711 GMT (0111 HKT)

At least 26 dead, 60 injured in blast at congested traffic circle

Peshawar has been target of multiple militant attacks in

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) — A suicide car bomber struck a congested traffic circle outside Peshawar Tuesday, killing at least 26 people — including several women and children — and wounding 60 others, police and hospital officials said.

The blast happened in Charsadda, which is located about 18 miles (29 kilometers) north of Peshawar.

The attack happened just as Charsadda District Police Chief Mohammed Riaz Khan was leaving the area, and Khan told CNN he believes his two-car convoy was the target of the attack.

As he left his office and headed home, Khan said a red car approached the convoy but it was blocked by a passing donkey trolley.

Moments later, the car blew up and Khan says he believes that the suicide bomber intended to ram his convoy. Khan also noted that he has recently received threats from militants.

Ms. Schlussel never ceases to amaze me.

She HAS suffered professionally because she is a professional, i.e., she won’t sacrifice her values/morals for money.

Don’t forget that she does pro bono work consistently at her own expense, i.e., losing her own money to help others.

As mentioned on a prior post, she won’t pimp herself to get the money, although she can use it.

Ms. Schlussel – PLEASE put a donate or tip jar somewhere on homepage so we can help out. I’m embarrassed to say how little I can contribute, but if many gave what we could – that certainly couldn’t hurt.

Say again, PLEASE put a donate or tip jar on homepage so we can help.
This work of yours is full-time and light years ahead of all MSM outlets.

We arent talking about the same FBI that claimed there was no mafia-organized crime in America?…are we?

The FBI is a threat to our freedoms and safety. Where is J. Edgar Hoover when you need him??
