I Stick to My Guns: The Call from That Albanian Muslim Chick

By Debbie Schlussel

I stick by my guns.  (And I get upset when others do not.  Especially the others who know better, but do it anyway.)

hellno

On Monday, I got a call from a woman with a thick accent.  She told me she and her husband are both from Albania, that they’re looking for a lawyer to help them with immigration.

Me:  Are you Muslim or Christian?

Albanian Chick:  We are both Muslim.

At that point, I know for sure I’m not helping them. This is the only kind of Muslim I’ll help.   Islam is at war with the West, at war with America, and I know on which side of that war I am.

We need less Muslims (from Albania or wherever else) in our country, not more.  Do you have the magic decoder ring that tells you which Muslims will be like Nidal Malik Hasan and which won’t?  I will not be helping to increase their presence.  And frankly, we have enough immigrants right now and not enough jobs (and too many jobs with wages pushed down by aliens).  Not my job to make it worse.

Me:  Are you here legally?

Albanian Chick:  I have a U.S. passport, but my husband doesn’t.  He snuck in here through Mexico.

Me:  I’m sorry.  I can’t help you.  What’s wrong with your own country that you can’t live there?  Why would you help a man enter our country illegally?

I could use the money, but I’m no whore.  We need more criminals and followers of the religion of Nidal Malik Hasan in this country like a hole in the head.  Sadly, this won’t be the end for this woman’s husband.  I predict he’ll become a U.S. citizen pretty quickly.  And that’s the problem.

Rather than America doing the right thing and stripping this woman of her citizenship for helping harbor an illegal alien, we’ll enable this situation.  This woman will find some immigration lawyer to help her and  her illegal alien husband.  And they’ll find a way to adjust his status, so he can stay here, because he’s married to her, and our immigration laws allow this absurdity.

Say good-bye, America.  Because there are plenty of lawyers who will help these people.  And plenty of laws and bureaucracy, which will help them.

It is indeed an absurdity. Why do we reward people who break the law, while putting people who want to come here the proper way through a wringer. It is an abomination.

Worry01 on November 10, 2009 at 4:28 am

Why do we admit people who probably have few or no marketable skills, and will inevitably be living off various forms up public assistance?

Worry01 on November 10, 2009 at 5:04 am

the wealthy people and corporations love these type of people to come in, they need them to work cheaply at stores and in other jobs……they wont complain much about conditions

they will also take up housing and consume products so its a double win for the wealthy …….for the middle class its a disaster

    drew299 on November 10, 2009 at 10:35 am

Thankfully someone who will stick by their convictions. Too bad all the other lawyers would stab each other in the back to represent these two.

Dave on November 10, 2009 at 6:54 am

Good for you Deb !!
It’s nice to know that some people have principles.

Personally, I’m gettin sick of Muslims being such a protected class with most everyone being afraid to speak out.

Shootist on November 10, 2009 at 7:49 am

Every one has to follow our laws. But one gets the impression Muslims don’t. And when they get into trouble, excuses are made for them. Debbie, good thing you don’t be part of that. There may be a good reason to help a client but this situation ain’t one where you have to do so.

NormanF on November 10, 2009 at 8:23 am

Because the President is a Muslim! And always was! And why Muslims let his father live because he never converted!

Bob S. on November 10, 2009 at 9:02 am

Debbie, Hasan was born here – he grew up in an American environment so I don’t think its a question of an immigrant not being acculturated. Outwardly he was like millions of other Americans and Islam somehow made him turn out different. And no – we don’t have a magical decoder ring to look inside the human soul and tell us what kind of person they are. Life would be a lot more secure if we knew who was dangerous and who wasn’t. In the absence of that, you just have to rely on your good judgment and if I was your client, I would trust it just as I trust the stories you break on your blog for us – with my life.

So continue to stick to your guns!

NF: Very aware he was born here and have noted it in other entries. But the point of this piece is that he is Muslim, the woman who contacted me and her husband are Muslim. And that Islamic extremism knows no borders. And we have no way of knowing which Muslims coming into the country are going to be just like him and try their hands at it. We don’t need more. DS

NormanF on November 10, 2009 at 9:08 am

the thing is, they can be born here=love sports, watch our tv shows, go to bars but at some point they change or the real inner self emerges and they revert back to the k0ranic teachings and decide to make up for the guilt in becoming semi westernized/
they all seem to do this(d s has blog’d about it) strip clubs drinking, osama did it in lebanon

its almost like this show v we may have to get 3d glasses so we can tell but in the meantime how about an embargo on
    immigrants

    drew299 on November 10, 2009 at 10:45 am

We should look at lone suicides among young Muslim men. We knew a delightful young man a few years ago. Outwardly he seemed fine. He knew we were Jews and we heard him crying one night. We couldn’t get him to answer the door but we knew if we called the rent a cop at the complex it would be misinterpreted. That had happened once already. The crying happened again a few days later only the result was that he committed suicide during the night. We were moving that very day and never found out what happened but he has started attending the local mosque. I wonder if he had been told to “take out” his Jewish neighbors and couldn’t do it because we did have a good relationship. He and his doctor brother were Paki and we genuinely got along. The brother I didn’t trust, but this one was different and it cost him.
My point is one way or another is this so called religion destroys ALL who come it’s way, particularly those who DO recognize goodness in others and seek to find peace in their lives. There is no way out for them. BTW I believe this particular young man had served in the US Air Force.

      MK750 on November 10, 2009 at 3:29 pm

See further explanation below before you flame me.

        MK750 on November 10, 2009 at 3:39 pm

If more people stuck to their guns and did the right thing our country wouldn’t be such a PC mess. I am so sick of hearing “undocumented immigrant”. If someone is here illegally, well that person is an illegal immigrant! Who cares if that offends anyone…it’s the truth! I know first hand how to do something the right way. My husband is originally from Romania and we married over 5 years ago. We went through the whole USCIS process and he became a U.S. citizen last year. We spent a lot of time filling out paperwork and going to appointments. We also spent a lot of money. I am so tired of people taking advantage of the system when plenty of honest people go about it the right way. Thank you for doing the right thing Debbie. Unfortunately there are people out there that don’t care and will find a way for these losers to stay here.

Angela04 on November 10, 2009 at 9:31 am

When Debbie wrote “This is the only kind of Muslim I’ll help.” the only thing that kept coming to my mind was a muzzie tombstone.

Jarhead on November 10, 2009 at 10:08 am

I thought the same thing as Jarhead.

Dont Tread On Me on November 10, 2009 at 10:15 am

There are very few moderate Muslims. But you would say that’s true of most of them? We really don’t know enough to say with certainty they won’t refrain from jihad when an opportunity presents itself. They could well be wolves in sheep’s clothing. We have to absolutely honest about it and deluding ourselves about Islam like the Europeans have will only lead to this country being turned slowly but inexorably into Islamomerica. Debbie did not want to help this woman break our laws. Some lawyers might look the other way but she didn’t feel right about it. This is a perfect illustration that in life your values may count far more than money – along with being able to sleep at night.

I don’t feel the need to defend Debbie’s judgment call. It sounds like the right one to me.

NormanF on November 10, 2009 at 10:32 am

Debbie, you’ll get no argument from me. I think you handled it right in getting the full story from the prospective client before turning them down. That’s definitely the kind of Muslim I would NOT defend if I was an attorney. As I noted, there are times in life when you have to decide what’s more important – your values or your money. And regardless of their religion, gender, race, etc. I would want other people to do the right thing. If they won’t, then its time to take a walk. We don’t need jihadists here and we should tell Muslims who won’t obey our laws and accept our values that they have no welcome here. We have every right to protect ourselves and the fact we have people from every nation on earth here does not mean we have to give hospitality to those hostile to America whose only objective in in life is to harm its people and to destroy this country.

That’s a message meant for that Albanian woman and whoever else tries to take advantage of this country’s generosity for their own ends. Its about time!

NormanF on November 10, 2009 at 10:42 am

    Amen, Norman F

    MK750 on November 10, 2009 at 3:34 pm

Good job, Debbie. Principals are hard to come by these days.

Joe on November 10, 2009 at 10:50 am

joe – actually, principals are quite easy to find. they have a dedicated office inside all public schools.

howardroark on November 10, 2009 at 11:19 am

Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, on capitalism and morality.

Muslims don’t follow basic civilized tenets, such as “Thou shall not steal.” They come here and want to steal our prosperity and overthrow the very foundations that caused our prosperity.

They don’t understand “Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” They cheat and lie to anyone not Muslim with a “jihad of the tongue.”

They don’t understand sexual morality and have a pornographic view of women and the afterlife, and they they enslave their wives and their female children by forcing them to cover up.

They have no comprehension of the dignity of human life. They still practice slavery and killing is perfectly okay. They relentless persecute anyone not Muslim and then claim THEY are the ones being persecuted.

They can’t stand their OWN countries but refuse to leave the cult that caused their countries to become third world basket cases.

Therefore, no Muslim should be welcome in our country if we care for self-preservation of our liberties and prosperity.

Finally, if you look at the comments by Muslims on this site, they completely lack logic, and it is apparent they cannot function in a civilized society.

JM on November 10, 2009 at 10:51 am

GOD bless you Debbie,you “get”it

JOE on November 10, 2009 at 10:56 am

“Me: I’m sorry. I can’t help you. What’s wrong with your own country that you can’t live there? Why would you help a man enter our country illegally?”

debster – did she answer this question? probably hung up… also, did she know you were jewish?

howardroark on November 10, 2009 at 11:16 am

JM, you do sum up our situation with Islam far better than I could. Indeed, Muslim immigrants can’t stand their own countries but that doesn’t keep them from trying to change America back into the hell they escaped from. Not one Muslim-majority country is in the top 25 of the most desirable countries on earth in which to live. They are all in the bottom 25. Then why on earth should we want to have that here?

I sure as heck don’t and most Americans would agree. Its too bad our elites and the media don’t get it.

NormanF on November 10, 2009 at 11:17 am

Howard, yes she could have sought out a Muslim attorney. I wonder if CAIR will be taking up her case. The sad thing is as Debbie wrote, she and her husband will probably get away with it. America is Rodney Dangerfield when it comes to upholding its sovereignty.

NormanF on November 10, 2009 at 11:23 am

My husband has been in the US since he was 14 years old. He is a great fan of your site and reads it all the time. He is a Christian and former Muslim. When he lived in Iran it was before the Islamic Republic. His mom wore miniskirts. His parents miss those times and have applied to come to the States many times, only to be denied. They are old and just want to see their grandchildren. His dad is an athesist and his mom a Muslim, though not radical by any means. Your parents migrated to the US but you think others should not? Many people want the same freedoms and hate the Iranian president and what he has done to their country.

SAM on November 10, 2009 at 11:56 am

To Sam-an emotional appeal, and I understand about grandparents wanting to see their grandchildren. But grandparents can visit on a visa. They can even invite your family to visit them in Iran.
If they want to emigrate to the United States, they can get in line, respecting our laws.
As Debbie noted here, the couple seeking help were both cheating-the husband snuck in, the wife was planning to overstay a visa. If they are so desperate to leave Albania, there are literally hundreds of other countries to choose from. They could make a life anywhere. why come here as criminals when they can live legally elsewhere?

Douglas Q on November 10, 2009 at 12:51 pm

Sam, Muslim immigrants to Europe haven’t been assimilated there and its very difficult to assimilate them here. Hasan shows how hard can be even for the American-born children of Muslim immigrants to grow up American. As Debbie noted, we just don’t know how to distinguish between those who really want to live here and make America their home and those who hate it and just want to kill us. I vote on the side of caution.

NormanF on November 10, 2009 at 12:58 pm

JM said, “Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, on capitalism and morality.”

That’s true to a point. The United States was founded on the principle that people of a certain class should be able to live their lives the way they want. Those people “of class” could afford to espouse Judeo-Christian principles on capitalism and morality. (the rest were just going along from the ride trying not to be drafted for war or sold into slavery)

For a couple hundred years our leaders wielded the most awesome military power in human history with precision and without pity. “Don’t f*ck with us or you’ll be sorry” could/should have been our motto…but it wouldn’t look as good on the dollar bill.

Now our motto should be, “trample on us, we like it.”

Joe Schmo on November 10, 2009 at 1:01 pm

Thank you for standing up for America! I have been going through the immigration process with my wife since 2005 and have spent thousands of dollars to do it legally – and I am still going through the process. Irate is the softest word I can use to describe how I feel about the illegals in this country and the politicians that cow-tow to them and NOT the legal American citizens (native born and naturalized). Any politician from either side of the aisle who wants to give amnesty to the illegals can take their policies, shove them up their a$$es and twist them sideways. The muslim component of this equation just raises the boiling point for me, for America and our nation’s security. Again, thank you, Debbie, for your integrity and sticking up for what we have left of a once great nation called America.

PatsPFS on November 10, 2009 at 2:17 pm

You may be the one refusing to help break the laws but that makes about….one! What we need is a policy. A real policy that is simple to understand and crosses the political spectrum. Do you have our income reported by W-2’s or IRS form 1099-misc? Why not have government report all of our “redistruted income” like food stamps, welfard, afdc…whatever…on IRS Form 1099-gov? If we know how the politicians were buying their votes we might be able to shine a little light on it. Besides, failing to report income to the IRS is a REAL crime (unless they’ve changed that for illegals, too!).

SenatorMark4 on November 10, 2009 at 3:16 pm

The only motto should be ,, In God we trust, all muzzies are suspect.

Drakken on November 10, 2009 at 3:22 pm

Drakken, you say “The only motto should be ,, In God we trust, all muzzies are suspect.”

I disagree with part one and agree with part two of your short comment.
I see not point in making all of us live under “in God we trust” when a good portion of the population does not believe in a deity and are Atheist or Agnostic.
In these trying times where koranimals are making an unvield effort to destroy the American way of life you Christians and Jews here in America need all the help you can get. If in this situation (muslim jihad) the Jews and Christians would welcome us Atheists into this battle to defend the American way of life I think we would have a much greater chance to defeat our enemy WHICH IS ISLAM.

We Atheists, Jews, & Christians sure do have a whole lot of differences, but when it comes to jihad in the United States I believe that Jews, Christians and Atheists would all agree that the outcome of the jihad winning would be the detriment to us all. Once we defeat the jihadis we can go back to our bickering about such issues like evolution, etc..

Baker on November 10, 2009 at 6:06 pm

Oh, I need to add that I am not comparing our neighbor to Major Jihadi. The Major needs to burn and I don’t mean a quick 20,000 volts. i’m talking the Biblical way.

MK750 on November 10, 2009 at 3:31 pm

Albanians did hide an assist Jews during WWII, so I would consider her request even though her husband is here illegally. I believe Albania was one of the few if not the only country to have more Jews at the end of the war than they had at the beginning.

I don’t know Debbie, it sounds a little “fishy” to me. You are pretty well known in the Muslim community. Are you sure it wasn’t a set-up?

White Rook on November 10, 2009 at 6:51 pm

Good on you Debbie.

Dare to compare:

My experience last year in Las Vegas with cab drivers:

met one Chinese who was overjoyed who great America was, how much money she and her husband makes, (she also waitresses in the Bellagio) and was the happiest person on the world. She said they both came with nothing.

Then I met a Bosnian Muslimah who was whingeing and whining the whole time how bad America was, how rude Americans were, that “the government doesn’t take care of people” (whatever that means) and blah blah blah.

I told her she shouldn’t be in America. I threw the money at her and got out of the cab. And I’m Aussie, not American.

sheik yer'mami on November 10, 2009 at 6:55 pm

I agree with White Rock; it may well have been a setup, and it could have been from the Government, DHS, or DoJ. The Government is probably pretty sensitive just about now, after the PC paralysis that led to all those deaths at Ft. Hood, and would like to eliminate critical voices having to do with Muslims.

Little Al on November 10, 2009 at 7:53 pm

Kol hakavod, Debbie.

I say again, the few decent Muslims around here are framed by the vast majority of not so nice Muslims and have to be defended in court against great odds by you.

Underzog on November 10, 2009 at 8:30 pm

Debbie…When the revolution to restore our Constitutional Republic comes…and it’s getting closer and closer every day…every judge and lawyer with a track record of undermining the US Constitution and/or assisting illegal aliens to break US laws will wish he had fled to Cuba, North Korea or Iran.

joesixpack31 on November 10, 2009 at 9:00 pm

Right on, Debbie. Thanks for not helping the enemy. At first I thought that shirt had to do with Obama.

CaliforniaScreaming on November 10, 2009 at 11:22 pm

OK, let me see if I have this right.
Moderate muslim: hates Americans, liberals, conservatives, democracy, women, etc… gays, Atheists, Christians, etc. etc… Agnostics, free thought and speech, etc… and last but definitely not least, The Jews.
Radical muslim: hates other muslims as well. That seems about right.

and Obama T’s?…..how about:

Just say NO!
to BO

…ok, I’m tryin’

Israel does everything for humanity and saves the lives of its enemies and yet it is attacked by them everyday. I JUST WONDER WITH AGONY.

Serbia was fighting these terrorists in bosna and kosovo but america and her allies found the need to bomb us christiansfor these jihadists.

Dragoslav on November 15, 2009 at 11:54 pm

Now you know what kind of enemy Serbs are fighting in our province of Kosovo. These Albanians looted and burned down centuries old churches and beat our Bishops and nuns. They are scum, and btw to the poster tha said Albanians helped Jews in ww2……go and google “Skenderbeg division”, they were Albanian Nazis that commited horrible crimes against Serbs and Jews.

Obilic on November 17, 2009 at 10:29 am

It was Albanian Mafia drug money that got us to bomb the Serbs of Kosovo in 1999. And the Albanian enabler who funded the the terrorist KLA, Florin Krasniqi, got into the US how? By sneaking in illegally from Mexico in the trunk of a Cadillac!
Just see the film, “The Brooklyn Connection” to find out how one Albanian can exploit & harm America beyond all reason!

Milana on November 17, 2009 at 4:28 pm

Right On Debbie!
As you alluded to, we don’t need even one more immigrant here given the state of the economy and rash of immigrants unwilling to assimilate and embrace American values.
As for Muslim, even if there is only one, there is the potential for extremism/terrorism.
Islam has no place in America!

Darien on November 17, 2009 at 9:46 pm

Very sad indeed that the US decided to bomb Serbia, and effectively created 2 islamic quasi “states”, on Serbian territory, in Kosovo and Bosnia.

Radovan Karadzic, the Bosnian Serb leader, who is accused of “genocide” by a kangeroo court in the Netherlands, stated on the US news show “60 minutes”:

“You will see on your own soil what we Serbs have gone through during the past several decades, especially once Muslims become numerically strong enough. Muslims are intolerant, arrogant and hostile to all social, economic and moral systems that are different from their own”.

Unfortunately, the US is still run by those who fail to recognize that islam poses a real threat to western civilization, because it is an intolerant religion, and because the koran teaches muslims that all non-muslims are animals that can and should be murdered, robbed, deceived and harassed or beaten.
